Buying a pure silver murti

A Pitaari murti is cast in 999 pure silver and then hand-finished and polished. Ganesh and Lakshmi are the forms we make, for the home mandir, griha pravesh and Diwali puja. Casting and hand-finishing cannot land on a weight to the milligram, so every murti page states its weight and the small tolerance either side of it, and you are charged on the listed weight. Ask for the assay report for the piece you are buying, or have it independently assayed at a BIS-recognised centre; we would rather you checked. Pure silver is a soft metal, so a murti is best kept on a cloth or a stand and wiped with a soft dry cloth when it tarnishes. Every murti carries twelve months of free re-polishing at our counter in Meerut, where Agarwal Jewellers has traded since 1960.

Questions

Is a silver murti made of pure silver?
Every Pitaari murti is cast in 999 pure silver. Its weight is stated on its page with the tolerance either side, you are charged on that listed weight, and an assay report is available on request.
How do I care for a silver murti?
Keep it dry, on a cloth or stand, and wipe it with a soft dry cloth. Every murti carries twelve months of free re-polishing at our counter.
Is everything here 999 pure silver?
Yes. Every silver piece on this site is 999 fine silver, which is 99.9% silver by weight. The gold coins are 24K. Nothing on the site is alloyed.
What is included in the price?
The metal, the labour of turning it into a finished piece — die work, striking or casting, finishing, polishing, packing and wastage — and GST. Delivery is charged separately and quoted with the order. It is free above ₹ 10,000.
Will the piece weigh exactly what is listed?
Coins are struck to an exact weight. Hand-finished pieces carry a stated weight tolerance, shown on the product page, because casting and finishing cannot land on a figure to the milligram. You are charged on the listed weight.
What happens when it tarnishes?
Tarnish is a thin surface film formed when silver meets sulphur in the air. It wipes off, and every piece carries twelve months of free re-polishing at our counter.
