Care and re-polishing

Silver tarnishes because it meets sulphur in the air, not because anything is wrong with it. Keep the piece dry and sealed in its pouch, clean it with a soft cloth, and never with an abrasive paste — abrasives remove tarnish by removing silver. This piece carries one free re-polish within twelve months.

Questions

Is this really 24K gold?
Yes. 24K is 99.9% gold by weight. An assay report for this piece is available on request, and you are free to have it independently assayed.
Will it weigh exactly 1 g?
Yes. This piece is struck to an exact weight, so there is no tolerance on it. You are charged on 1 g.
Why does the price change?
Silver is a traded metal, so the price of a piece moves with it. The figure shown is computed from the last recorded rate, with the time of that reading beside it, and is confirmed when you message us.
What does the hallmark mean here?
This piece carries a BIS hallmark. Hallmarking is compulsory for gold jewellery in India and voluntary for silver, so on a silver piece it is a verification we chose to obtain rather than one we were required to.
How do I buy it?
Through WhatsApp or at the counter, not a cart. Prices move with the metal rate, and confirming the rate in a message is more honest than freezing a number in a basket for three days.

Buyback

We buy back our own pieces at metal value only, at the rate on the day we receive and evaluate them. Making charge and GST are not refunded, and the process takes weeks rather than days.

Agarwal Jewellers · since 1960

66 years behind the same counter

Pitaari is the silver line of Agarwal Jewellers, a family jeweller trading since 1960. The shop came first and it is still there: people walk in, put a piece on the scale, and are served by the family that made it.

This site is that counter, written down. Same silver, same weights, same people answering the phone.
